My Favorite Sweater

Friday, June 6th, 2008

I have a blue-green sweater that my sis gave me many a moon ago. It is one of my favorites, the biggest reason being that it is my favorite color. (Do you see the eerie matchy of the sweater yarn to my site colors?) Only slightly behind that reason in that it is sparkly. Sadly, the sweater is going bad due to its popularity with me and it’s many wearings. Thusly, when I saw this color sparkly yarn in a store, I just had to buy it. The theory is to knit a new favorite sweater. But I am a terrible knitter that takes forever to finish something just because I get bored and move on to different hobbies. But here’s hoping that if I post it, I will knit it.

Deep V Argyle Vest

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Hey, Look at me doing my first fair isle project. It’s scary and fun at the same time. I had never heard of steeks before in my life. And the very idea of CUTTING my knitting is freaking me out. We’ll see how it goes…

Fluff ‘N Stuff

Friday, July 27th, 2007

So I finally used my spinning wheel after lending it to my sis for a while. She gave it back a long, long time ago, but I haven’t been using is due to laziness and moving factor. But I was so pleased with the way this one ply Blue Face Leicester fluff came out that I have to show it. The color was “Deep Sea.” This is mostly a pic post, so bear with me.

Also, I recently purchased more jewelry tools that gives me the power to solder! Scary, but true. I was able to make this 34″ sterling silver chain with shell beads with it. Super fun! It’s hard to see in the pic, but the coating on the shell beads give it a cool fuschia, teal, red, navy iridescent thing.

It’s been a fun and creative week for me.

Apparently, my cat wanted to play while I was playing amateur photographer. She is adorable!

Sock Fest

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Don’t have much time to write. It’s late and I have to get up for work. But here is an update on socks. I managed to get this one sock completed in 2 days. Then I paused to start some other projects, and the second sock is now on hold. Hmm, not good. I will get back to it as soon as I finish the 4th of July ones though. I swear!

Crochet and Bamboo!

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Recently my sis had the grand idea that she wanted to do some crocheting for cute tops. This naturally led to me getting more yarn to crochet into a cute top too. I am using Bamboo yarn, color ‘natural’, to make the top, and it is glorious. It’s also a lot faster than the string that I use for making doilies. Phew!

Fourth of July…

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

I am attempting to knit this pair of really cute 4th of July socks for our picnic coming up. Sure, there’s plenty of time to get it done. But I am so not a finisher of projects, so here’s hoping that I get it done. I think they are super socks!

Fuzzies!

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

You never know what might happen if you decide to knit up left over yarn into a rectangle. Boring, yes, but ultimately cute. I had some pink stuff left over from a scarf I had knitted for a friend that just needed to be used up. So as i was sitting one night specifically not unpacking like I should have been, I started knitting the pink fuzzy that you see below. I decided that it is my cat’s rug since she just loves to eat my yarn. Now she can lay on this mini-rug.

It is even more appropriate since she sat on my lap trying to eat the yarn most of the time that I was knitting it.
