A Touch of Music

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

I had a small craft sale today that gave me time to design a new piece. At one point while I was making the piece I saw a hint of a music symbol coming out. Of course, as a music lover, I just had to continue with it and add a little more. Can you see them?

So look at this cool bookshelf that I got as a gift this past Christmas. Now if only I would actually put everything away so that it can be used…

Squiggles

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Check out this fun and simple bracelet that I made as yet another gift. ‘Tis the Season and all that entails. Gives me a good excuse to play with my toys and make stuff.

I dub thee… Squiggles. For obvious reasons, of course.

So even though I wasn’t posting, I did manage to make a new pendant for someone as a gift. At least it’s something, right?

Forget Something?

Then you need a string for your finger.

A friend of mine recently asked if I could make a ring that looks like a piece of string that is tied into a bow. There were some issues figuring out how to get that to work, but after a few tries, I managed to get something. I personally like option 2, but who knows?

Pink Champagne

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

So a friend of mine had her champagne birthday this month, and I decided to make her a gift. Her party was themed Pink Champagne as pink is her favorite color. Of course, I had to make the gift appropriately matchy.

Fluff ‘N Stuff

Friday, July 27th, 2007

So I finally used my spinning wheel after lending it to my sis for a while. She gave it back a long, long time ago, but I haven’t been using is due to laziness and moving factor. But I was so pleased with the way this one ply Blue Face Leicester fluff came out that I have to show it. The color was “Deep Sea.” This is mostly a pic post, so bear with me.

Also, I recently purchased more jewelry tools that gives me the power to solder! Scary, but true. I was able to make this 34″ sterling silver chain with shell beads with it. Super fun! It’s hard to see in the pic, but the coating on the shell beads give it a cool fuschia, teal, red, navy iridescent thing.

It’s been a fun and creative week for me.

Apparently, my cat wanted to play while I was playing amateur photographer. She is adorable!

Russian Amazonite

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Just recently, a friend showed me a great new store where I can purchase genuine stone beads. Up until that point, I generally preferred using Swarovski crystal only. However, now I can play with genuine beads and crystal. The best part of all is that I can make jewelry to match any outfit if I have the time. This necklace is Russian Amazonite and clear Swarovski crystals.

And on a completely unrelated note, look at what my cat is doing!

Sleepy Sara

She will sleep anywhere as long as it is near a human. It’s so cute and a little strange at the same time.

Happy Pascha!

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

For this year’s Pascha, I made a cute little keychain for people. It is a simple design, I grant you, but since I had to make 15 of them, I figured that simple was the way to go. I have to tell you that I love to make gifts for people! Mostly this is because I love to make stuff, but I can’t keep all of it since it would be much too much clutter. This way I get to make it, and somebody else takes the clutter. I am so kind, I know. I think I should mention that it was a keychain for choir people who sing for the church. Hence the music note and the cross.
